roofs of Franklin Crag

Directions to park: From Seneca go east on route 33 to Franklin. Continue for 2 miles over a stream/river and to a General Store on your left. Stop into the store and ask about access and location of cliff.

ALERT!!ALERT!!ALERT!! Temporary Crag Closure: Franklin Trail Day, April 6th and 7th, 2002, the trail and thus crags at Franklin will be closed to facilitate trail work and trash clean up. Come help us restore trails which are, frankly, a shameful commentary on the climbing community's lack of responsibility. Do your part to preserve this unique climbing area. Come help out on the 6th, and enjoy a day of climbing and community on the 7th.

Climbing: Sport, Bouldering

Access: Private Property - Questionable
Access Sensitive - Be respectful! STAY ON THE TRAILS!!! KEEP ALL DOGS ON LEASHES, at ALL times!!! DO NOT USE THE CAVE FOR A TOILET!!! Pack it in, PACK IT OUT. This is a great area but respect the locals, and respect the advice or requests of the local climbers you encounter there. Or else the guys who bolted this crag, (Mike Gray chief among them) will chop the routes and go to the landowners to have ALL access denied.
