Directions to park: Go 15 miles west of Mazama on highway 20 to Washington Pass. Hike south 1 hr from pass to these prominent formations: Early Winter Spires, Concord Tower, Lexington Tower, and Liberty Bell. (3 access trails). Another major area, Silver Star Mountain / Wine Spires, are 10 min east down Highway 2 at signed pullout. A North American classic. "Roadside" alpine rock climbing on several towers, including the 1,200' E Face of Liberty Bell. Relatively instant access on the best rock in the North Cascades makes this a choice area amongst climbers. Ask locals for route information. Hwy closes in winter.
