Tatoosh
Range, Wash

|
Directions to park: From Packwood, go north on highway 12, then north on Highway 123. Turn left on Stevens Canyon Road to Reflection Lakes. Hike to Pinnacle-Plummer Saddle in the Tatoosh Range. Other approaches available. This satellite of peaks to the south of Mount Rainier generates interest among rock scramblers seeking different perspective of Washington's famed 14,000' peak. Pinnacle Peak called the "Matterhorn of the Cascades" catches the spotlight, although Unicorn Peak (6917'), a good early season route, is the highest. Most rock climbs are scrambles on enjoyable 4th or easy 5th class rock. |
