Directions to park: Olympic Peninsula. North West Washington. The most popular of the various areas in the park include: Hurricane Ridge, The Needles, Sawtooth Ridge, and Mt. Constance. Most of the rock in the Olympic Range is a friable except for the volcanic outcrops which tend to be much sounder rock. Glacial wilderness peaks to 8000', the king of which is Mt. Olympus at 7,965'. Some parts of the park lie in the rainshadow and receive far less precipitation than others. Be prepared for glacier travel. Varied rock, scenic rainforest, record rainfall, and record trees.
