Directions to park: To
get to Hone Quarry: From I-81 N or S, take 33 West through Harrisonburg.
Turn left (South) on 42/High Street. Follow 42 to Dayton, passing through
the light, and turn right (West) on 257. Follow 257 through rolling hills
and farms to the Otterbein Store and intersection. Turn Left and continue
on 257 to Briery Branch intersection and store. Turn right, still on 257,
and drive towards the mountains, parallelling the river. Hone Quarry will
be about 2.5 miles, on the right, with prominent NFS sign. Many choice
shady boulders lie just up this road, as well. Please park well off the
road, control your trash and pets, and be respectful of the home/property
owners in this area. Many local climbers have enjoyed years of access
here with no complaints or problems. Let's keep it that way.
