Directions to park: Take I-77 to (exit 83) Route 21. Follow 21 north to a left turn onto N.C. 1002 or Traphill Rd. After about four miles turn right onto John P. Frank Parkway. Follow this road to Stone Mountain State Park and follow signs for climbing. Park near bathrooms and hike uphill (10 minutes). OR park on the opposite end of the parking lot and hike up the road to the Hutchinson Homestead site, located at the base of Stone Mountain. The road is more direct and faster than the trail if time is an issue.
