Directions to park: Directions to Blowing Rock - From Boone go towards town of Blowing Rock on highway 321. Turn onto Blue Ridge Parkway south. Follow for about 3 miles turn left at the 221 exit. Rest area on right for access to climbing. Hazards: Blowing Rock is expensive and touristy.

 

Camp-sites:

  • Jullian Price Campground on Blue Ridge Parkway, just past Blowing Rock
  • There are campgrounds in Boone

Access: Park - Open - Access: The land is managed by the National Park Service and this area is not an official climbing area recognized by the Park Service. Please be wary of your actions in this area (i.e., no littering, keep a low profile, do not talk back to tourists or rangers and tread lightly. Also the small parking lot is owned by the North Carolina Department of transportation. The Boone Climbers Coalition is working with them in order to secure our parking access. Please carpool at ALL COSTS. You can park in Blowing Rock or Trout Lake parking to maximize parking
