Directions to park: The Selkirk Mountain Range (7000') contains several glacially carved granite faces, buttresses, and boulderfields on beargrass slopes. Easy mountaineering routes to difficult rock climbs on rock that can be reached within a 3 hour hike. Chimney Rock is the most popular for rock climbers. From Sandpoint take highway 95 north on Pack River road. Pick up trail heads off this road at West Branch Road or further north until the end of the road. Also accessible from Priest right, turn north to Coolin and continue beyond this town to Horton Ridge road. Take this road to its end and hike east for MT. Roothaan and Chimney Rock.
