Directions to park: Lantern Hill is located just west of Mystic, CT. From Interstate 95 use exit 92 (North Stonington) to Route 2 west. Follow this for approximately five miles. When Foxwoods Casino (the predominent landmark) comes into view, look for Wintechog Hill Road on the left. A quarter mile down this road on the right is an unpaved parking area and the trail head. Park here and follow the trail. When the trail forks in an eighth of a mile, follow the right fork another 1/3 of a mile to the bottom of prominent clean white quartzite cliffs. The first set of cliffs is lichen covered but still offers many good climbs between 5.7 and 5.11. Continue another 200 yards to the second set of cliffs, which is the most popular climbing area. To set set up topropes, follow the main trail around the base of the cliffs another 100 yards, at which point a smaller trail on the left will lead you to the cliff tops.
