Directions to park: From Bishop:

Buttermilk Boulders - West line street in down town Bishop, passing post office and hospital. This road turns into 168. Turn right onto buttermilk road. Bouldering is high on this road.

Druid Stones: - West line street in down town Bishop, passing post office and hospital. left at barlow lane to open farms land, take next right into paved road into desert (chipmunk canyon rod) second full size power line turn left onto dirt rd, take first right and continue past corral to the switch back mining road on the hill park here.from parking follow trail up to the left side of large canyon about 3o minutes. Hike to Druid Stone.

Happy Boulders: From 395 north take route 6 north / east. turn left on five bridges road, then left on chalk bluff road (dirt). Follow this for about 2.3 miles to pull off on left. Hike up bluff on right to boulders.

Sad Boulders: From 395 north take route 6 north / east. turn left on five bridges road, instead of going left on chalk bluff continue straight onto caso diablo road for 2.0 miles. Take second left. Bear left at fork and park in circle at end of road. Follow trails on both sides of parking lot

Sport climbing at Owens River Gorge. North of Bishop on 395 turn right on Girge road.

 

Camp-sites:

  • Pleasant vally campground, north on 395, turn right on Pleasenat Vally Dam road, camping on right about 1 mile
  • Hot springs are 5 miles south on bishop at Kehough Hot Springs Bardini Foundation House, 515 Sierra Street
